Technology retailer Currys urges Brits to check air levels in air fryers amid supply chain issues

Currys is calling on customers to triple-check the air levels in their air fryers and buy replacement cartridges while stocks last, with limited numbers of the retailer’s Air Spares product still available in-store.

It is expecting severe shortages of air cartridges in the coming weeks as many retailers struggle to cope with soaring demand for air fryers amid ongoing Brexit related supply chain issues.

Air fryers stocked at Currys typically require air cartridges to be replaced at least twice a year to ensure that they continue to deliver fresh food that tastes great. In many cases, those that are not properly maintained cook bone-dry meals with a stale unpleasant aftertaste.

A Currys spokesperson says: “Air fryers have become one of our most popular products with annual sales rising by 350% and searches for the device increasing eight-fold on our website over the last 12 months.”

“But people still don’t know how to properly maintain their air fryers with nearly half of Brits admitting to never having changed an air cartridge before.”

‘With air cartridge shortages on the horizon, we strongly recommend that shoppers get their hands on some Air Spares while they still can.”

The latest Air Spares available at Currys:

1.         Standard air pack: these six refill cartridges contain a blend of fresh air from some of the freshest places in the UK including Ayrshire, Scotland.

2.       New chip shop air: give your healthy air fried food an authentic deep fried flavour with air taken directly from a selection of the UK’s finest chippies.

3.       Limited edition French air: sourced directly from the Pyrenees mountain range, this crisp and fragrant air will add some real va-va-voom to your coq-au-vin and other French dishes.

Currys recommends that you always read the manual for your air fryer and, if in doubt, its tech experts are on hand to help whether you choose to shop in-store or online.

It has also has pulled together a helpful guide for its customers:

1.       Check the air gauge on your air fryer (it’s next to the nonesuch switch)

2.       If the gauge is in the red, it’s time to replace old air with an Air Spare

3.       To remove the old air cartridge, turn it clockwise and anti-clockwise at the same time

4.       Now slot in your Air Spare and use these settings: Month = April / Capacity = Full.
