The fast and the furious: AiFi technology powers autonomous store at 2023 Miami Grand Prix

Formula One hits America this weekend, with the 2023 Miami Grand Prix taking place at the Miami International Autodrome in Florida, on Sunday, 7th May.

This will feature an autonomous store powered by AiFi technology.

In a LinkedIn post, the company said: “The fast and the furious. No, we’re not just talking about the Formula One Miami Grand Prix 2023, we’re also talking about the autonomous Hard Rock Stadium Express Shop that will be located at the event.”

It added: “That’s right, the shop, powered by AiFi’s autonomous store platform and running on Verizon’s 5G and mobile edge compute, will fast track the food and beverage buying experience for event goers.”

“After avoiding long checkout lines at concessions, all event attendees will be able to race (see what we did there?) back to their seats so they don’t have to miss a moment of the Grand Prix.”

2022 RTIH Innovation Awards

AiFi emerged victorious at the 2022 RTIH Innovation Awards in the Payments Innovation category.

The winning project was a Compass Group United Kingdom & Ireland (UK&I) store implementing AiFi’s autonomous computer vision technology.

As the first completely frictionless store in the United Kingdom and across the entire food services sector in Europe, this allows shoppers to purchase items without having to wait in line or stop to scan or pay.

“Our partnership with Compass Group to provide a frictionless shopping experience has changed the game for food services in the UK,” said Steve Carlin, CEO at AiFi. “We’re honoured to be recognised by an industry leader in retail technology for our AI powered solution.”

Our 2022 winners were revealed at a sold out event in central London on Tuesday, 6th December.

RTIH Editor, Scott Thompson, said: “Innovation and technology play a critical role in the success of the retail sector, so it is great to recognise standout examples through our awards.”

“Thanks to all those who entered the 2022 event. We received a record number of submissions and many fantastic examples of the continued resilience and dynamism of the retail space during hugely challenging times.”

“Congratulations to our 2022 retail technology hall of fame entrants.”
