Instacart said yesterday that it is partnering with Camping World, described as “the world’s largest recreational vehicle dealer,” to launch “same-day delivery from more than 185 Camping World stores nationwide via the Instacart App and website.”

The companies said that “Camping World is the first dedicated camping and RV supplies retail partner to leverage Instacart’s technologies and give customers access to same-day delivery of nearly 1,800 products, in as fast as an hour.”

Blake Wallace, Senior Director of Retail Partnerships at Instacart, said that he partnership will power Camping World’s “e-commerce strategy … making it easier for customers to get their camping gear quickly. Whether stocking up for a trip or grabbing last-minute essentials, we’re committed to bringing the great outdoors to customers’ doorsteps in as fast as an hour.”

KC’s View:

This allows  Instacart to tie its local retailer customers into this ecosystem, creating a supply chain that can serve campers as they trek from place to place.  Smart move – it reminds me of Domino’s Pinpoint Delivery offering, which enables the company to deliver pizza (albeit mediocre pizza) to any number of unorthodox locations.
