Food safety and product transparency have been subjects addressed for years here on MNB – more than a decade ago, we were talking with Randy Fields, CEO of ReposiTrak, about the demands of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and what it was going to require of retailers, suppliers and producers. Now, the chickens have come home to roost – after many delays (some of them bureaucratic, some of them because of the pandemic), new regulations are in place and regulators are poised to enforce them.
