Hy-Vee Partners with Uber Eats to Offer Deliveries from 260 Stores

Midwestern supermarket retailer Hy-Vee has partnered with Uber to add delivery services from 260 of its grocery and liquor storefronts. The two companies are spotlighting their new deal with a sweepstakes offering tickets to the 2023 NFL Kickoff on Sept. 7, 2023.

“Uber Eats has been growing in popularity among many of our customers, making this partnership a win-win-for both parties,” said Aaron Wiese, President of Hy-Vee in a statement. “As we expand our offerings, we want to be where our customers are comfortable placing an online order.”

The NFL sweepstakes marks both the new Hy-Vee deal and Uber Eats’ third year as the official on-demand food delivery partner for the league. Consumers ordering from Hy-Vee locations will receive 50% off their first order of $50 or more (up to $40) and the chance to enter the sweepstakes. Uber couriers also will be eligible to enter the contest.

Hy-Vee operates stores in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

“Hy-Vee is a beloved hometown brand and we’re thrilled to welcome them onto Uber Eats,” said Christian Freese, Head of Grocery and New Verticals across the U.S. and Canada for Uber in a statement. “Together we know we can make it easier than ever to have groceries and alcohol items delivered on-demand to doorsteps across the Midwest.”

Over the past year, Uber Eats has added retailers in multiple verticals to its distribution network, including:

  • Office Depot partnered with Uber Eats for deliveries from 900+ stores in August 2022;
  • Meijer added Uber Eats services at nearly 250 of its locations across the Midwest in December 2022; and
  • Uber partnered with PetSmart for deliveries from 1,600 of its stores in April 2023.
