Mattress industry

The mattress industry experienced very similar foot traffic to the previous Presidents’ Day, with a 2% increase compared to 2023.

The conversion rate was also similar to last year, with 75% of opportunities converted compared to the 78% converted last year.

Despite increased traffic and similar conversion rate, the mattress industry saw both average ticket and daily revenue decrease by 5%.

Footwear industry

In line with trends observed in the furniture industry, the footwear industry experienced a notable decrease in foot traffic, with a 7% decline compared to the previous year’s Presidents’ Day weekend.

Less foot traffic meant that salespeople had to make the most out of every opportunity, and that they did. Although average ticket decreased slightly from 75% last year, average ticket increased by a whopping 20% compared to last year.

As a result of the higher average ticket, daily revenue increased by 6% from $5,915 to $6,253 this year.
