GQ has an extensive interview with billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban, in which he talks about his evolution as a businessman, his work ethic, and his approach to finding business opportunities such as Cost Plus Drugs.
“I wouldn’t call myself iconoclastic, he says, “What I would say is, from an entrepreneurial perspective, I always look for ways to disrupt things.
Cost Plus Drugs is the perfect example. This is an area where nobody looks at health care and says, ‘It’s run perfect, there’s no room for improvement.’ Everybody looks at and goes, ‘What a mess’.”
He also offers some excellent advice to young people: “My oldest is a sophomore in college. And she’s like, ‘Well, I’m not sure.’ I’m like, ‘You don’t have to know what you’re going to be.’ Because everything’s always changing. And you’re changing, and you’re evolving. What you’ve got to be able to do is be agile and excited about learning to be curious. That’s what’s most important. If you’re curious, and you’re agile, you’ll get there eventually. It might not happen when you want it to, but you’ll get there eventually.”
