MNB has initiated a new sponsorship tier that reflects what for us is a new approach to the topic – I’ve decided that I really want to forge sustained relationships with companies that have value propositions and missions in which I believe and that, in turn, believe in MNB’s value proposition and mission. My goal is to not just provide a forum for these “Charter Sponsors,” but also commit to helping them grow their businesses in a variety of ways. In other words, it ain’t just about banner and tile ads. It is about moving the needle forward in terms of innovation and, ultimately, service to the shopper.

The latest time was last week, when I did an “MNB/In Conversation” segment with Randy and Dr. Benjamin Miller, executive vice president of regulatory and scientific affairs of The Acheson Group (TAG), in which we discussed what food industry companies need to do in order to be compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act’s Rule 204, which mandates lot code traceability for a number of foods (more than you think) and a timeline for compliance (sooner than you expect).
While operational buy-in has to be throughout every organization, ReposiTrak makes some compelling points: a) this is not an issue that can simply be delegated by senior executives, b) it is against the law not to comply, and c) the path to getting Rule 204 compliance right has to start right now or companies risk more than just a tarnished reputation.
We got a lot of positive reaction to last week’s conversation, which is why ReposiTrak made the decision to spend the coming months communicating the urgency of this challenge to MNB readers, while offering solutions that can be game-changing for organizations that adopt them.
