FaceTime with the Content Guy:  “Solve Problems.  Provide Value.”

Content Guy’s Note:  Yes, I know I’m supposed to be on vacation.  But while I’m off, I figured I’d file a daily series of FaceTime videos about a variety of off-the-beaten-path subjects that offer business lessons to retailers.  I don’t want you to forget me, and I don’t want you to think I’ve forgotten you.

I love my Hoka running shoes.  What I didn’t know was that when Hoka’s founders sold the company to Deckers Brands in 2012, annual sales were around $3 million.  This year:  about $1.4 billion.  (I think that’s known as buying low and selling high.)   But there’s also a good business lesson in how the company’s leaders are managing the brand, which has more to do with husbanding resources than exploiting momentary opportunities.
