Leading condiment brand Heinz has announced the US launch of its new pickle ketchup—a combination of the flavours of pickles and Heinz ketchup.

For 150 years, Heinz ketchup and pickles have been staples of American cuisine and the condiment brand revealed, citing the Datassential Report of October 2023, that 73% of Americans like pickles.

The introduction of pickle ketchup signifies the merging of Heinz’s ketchup with the savoury taste of pickles, providing consumers with a distinct flavour experience.

The company believes that this merging of two of its “heritage products” should be set to win with Heinz and pickle fans across the country.

Katie Peterson, director of Heinz innovation at The Kraft Heinz Company, stated: “The current pickle craze in America mirrors the irrational love Heinz fans have for the brand, so it only made sense for our newest ketchup to blend these two beloved tastes together.”

Pickle ketchup joins Heinz Hot Varieties, the brand’s limited-edition Sauce Drops and the customisable dispenser Heinz Remix in Heinz’s diverse range of condiments, aligning with the brand’s commitment to delivering unexpected culinary options.

As the first globally launched innovation under the brand’s unified global creative platform, pickle ketchup is set to debut on US shelves in early 2024.

Already present in select UK retailers, the condiment will expand to additional markets in late 2023 and early 2024, aiming to redefine the condiment landscape with its unique combination.

Pickle ketchup has no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or thickeners and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
