Walmart Health to enter Oklahoma

BENTONVILLE, Ark.  — Four Walmart Health centers are opening in the Oklahoma City area this year, Walmart said today. The openings mark the third state Walmart Health is entering in 2024, in addition to Missouri and Arizona. It has already established a presence in Texas.

“We are thrilled to announce the expansion of Walmart Health into Oklahoma,” said David Carmouche, senior vice president of omnichannel care offerings at Walmart.

Added Carmouche, “Walmart Health exists to help Walmart customers live better by providing convenient access to affordable, high quality healthcare services for both insured and uninsured Oklahomans alike. Knowing that access to comprehensive primary care, dental care, and behavioral health services is a challenge in many communities, it is our hope that this one-stop model will help solve this challenge for our neighbors in Oklahoma City. Providing these services in a place where many already live and shop and co-locating them by pharmacy and vision services and next to healthy foods in the Walmart grocery section is intentional. We can coordinate unique and impactful health care experiences.”

Each of the new facilities will be about 5,750 square feet in size and situated beside a Walmart Supercenter.

Each will offer a suite of health services, which can vary by location but will include primary care, labs, X-ray and EKG, behavioral health, dental, hearing, specialty services, community health and telehealth.

Walmart said each of these Walmart Health centers will offer care seven days a week.

Patients will make their appointments, enter their insurance information and confirm eligibility at the walmarthealth.com website.
