Worth Listening To:  How To Foil Ice Cream Thieves

National Public Radio (NPR) had a good piece the other day about how some security-conscious grocery stores are using “lid locks” to make sure that people who try to steal pints and quarts of ice cream won’t be able to easily open them.  “Supermarket Guru” Phil Lempert describes it to correspondent Stacey Vanek Smith as “probably the ultimate in theft protection, a plastic device that’s about an inch high that fits on top of a pint of ice cream.”

It is, of course, indicative of a much broader theft/shrink problem in many supermarkets, and you can listen to the story here.
