The Federal Trade Commission alleges that Meta violated the terms of a 2020 privacy settlement that required it to restrict how third parties used users’ data. The FTC says Meta continued to give app developers access to private information for children and teens under 18 after signing the agreement. Meta spokesperson Andy Stone called the announcement a “political stunt” and said, “We will vigorously fight this action and expect to prevail.”
