Sensory-friendly hours are returning to Walmart, and the policy has been expanded.

The hours will take place every day from 8-10 a.m. starting Nov. 10, and the retailer said the move could be permanent.

In July, Walmart tested out the sensory-friendly hours concept from 8-10 a.m. only on Saturdays. Walls with TVs were turned into a static image, the in-store radio was shut off, and lights were dimmed where possible to create an environment more enjoyable for shoppers with autism or other disabilities.

At the time, Walmart said the move was aimed at being more inclusive to its neuro-divergent customers.

“We are striving every day to create a culture where everyone feels they belong. This year, Walmart is taking steps toward creating a quieter shopping environment that’s more enjoyable for customers who live with sensory disabilities,” said Julie Barber, executive vice president of general merchandise at Walmart.
