Whole Foods Market is set to open another New Jersey store this fall.

The supermarket chain is opening a new 51,156-square-foot store in Jersey City on Thursday, Nov. 9 — the company’s first store in Jersey City and its 24th in the state.

The Texas-based grocer originally announced plans to open in Jersey City back in 2016. Plans for the market, including its location, were tweaked in 2019.

The new location’s product assortment features more than 1,000 local items from the Northeast, sourced with the help of John Lawson, senior local forager for Whole Foods Market. The new store will also have a seafood counter, meat counter, and prepared foods section, as well as a specialty cheese department with more than 200 types of cheese.

The store’s interior design will feature graphics representing the nearby Hudson River.

Doors will open at 8 a.m. on opening day. The store’s first 300 customers will receive a tote bag and coupons. Complimentary coffee and pastries will also be served.
