Starbucks reported a 12 percent jump in U.S. same-store sales during the second quarter as customer traffic increased six percent. The coffee giant outperformed expectations for both its domestic and global business. Starbucks CFO Rachel Ruggeri said the company’s performance was particularly noteworthy “given the seasonality pressures” the chain typically deals with during the second quarter.
