Some see the economic glass as half full and others see it half empty

Delta Children, which sells baby furniture and related products, is having a solid year and has no plans to cut staff despite talks of a possible recession. “People and businesses create their own self-fulfilling prophecy: you expect the worst, you end up creating the worst,” Mr. Shamie said. “I laugh because sometimes I sit with some of my friends, talking about how bad it is. And I say, ‘We’re at a gorgeous restaurant, spending tons of money.’ I look left and right, and say, ‘Ah, things don’t look so bad. And yet, you’re complaining.’”
