Food sales improve faster than overall retail in June

Food store sales rose by 0.7% in June, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The rise more than reverses a fall in May and means food sales improved faster than overall retail sales, which were also up, but only by 0.4%. Analysts said the weather was an important factor in the brighter figures. …
