As 2026 kicks in, I want to welcome a new Charter Sponsor to the MNB community – Empire Marketing Strategies, which offers its clients in center store, produce, meat/seafood and deli/bakery a unique value proposition: it is the only retail broker with an office inside Kroger headquarters, positioning itself as a trusted and strategic collaborator to both Kroger and the brands it serves.
To be honest, I didn’t know that much about Empire before our conversations. I didn’t know how deeply it is embedded inside the Kroger ecosystem, with more than four decades of experience serving all of Kroger’s banners and divisions. And I didn’t know the degree to which Empire facilitates alliances between Kroger and brands in hundreds of categories, offering a full suite of services, cutting across fresh and center store.
At a time when competition is tougher than ever – for customers, for shelf space, for eyeballs and share of stomach – I believe that collaboration is going to be increasingly key to companies’ successes.
