UK government confirms plans for drinks containers deposit scheme

The government has confirmed that from 2025 it intends to introduce a deposit return scheme (DRS) for drinks containers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The decision, which follows a consultation, comes after several years of lobbying from environmental groups.
