OffBeat:  Dog Years

Just a quick note to thank the many, many MNB readers who wrote in to offer their condolences for the passing of our dog Parker, about which I spoke on Monday in a FaceTime video.

I appreciated all your stories about your own dogs, and enormous compassion you showed during a time that was pretty tough for our family.  My son, whose dog Parker was, at one point texted me to thank me for being “a rock.”  I think he was gently kidding me;  I replied, “Rocks don’t sob.”

Which I did.

We all miss her a lot.  But we’re better for her presence in our lives for so many years.  (And we still have two other dogs living with us that make our hearts sing.)
