H-E-B to Help Customers Connect with Local Home and Pet Service Providers

H-E-B has partnered with Thumbtack to help shoppers connect with pet service providers in store.

H-E-B is rolling out branded displays at more than 300 stores across Texas that will connect customers with service providers on the home management platform Thumbtack.

The Thumbtack app helps homeowners manage their home with educational and planning tools and by enabling connections with local professionals. At the outset, the screens in H-E-B will help customers find access to local pet service providers for dog walking, grooming, pet sitting, training and more while they’re shopping. In addition to launching pet services, Thumbtack is also offering its Thumbtack On-Demand feature in select stores, which allows consumers to find and hire local handyman, lawn care and cleaning services at a 10% discount.

The partnership marks Thumbtack’s first foray into retail, but the company is planning to expand its physical footprint even further this year.

“Thumbtack’s job is to make caring for everything in and around the home a seamless experience for the homeowner,” said David Steckel, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at Thumbtack in a statement. “Expanding into physical retail brings us one step closer to that by allowing us to be a partner for consumers whether they’re shopping in store for their pets or getting their backyards ready for hosting.”
