Love this promotion from Chicago’s Eataly, which is partnering with The Second City – the famed, Chicago-based improvisational theater and school – for “an interactive class that blends hands-on cooking with playful improv. This class is designed to deepen connection, spark laughter, and strengthen communication.

“Whether you’re a couple, a group of best friends, or longtime partners in fun, you’ll work together to make a pizza under the guidance of an expert Eataly chef, while a Second City instructor leads lighthearted improv exercises tailored specifically to enhance communication and collaboration.”

It ain’t cheap – $170 a head – but I think it is a kind of recipe for community, combining cooking, eating and (hopefully) joyful collaboration.  I’m a big fan of Second City – I took my standup comedy class at its Brooklyn, New York, school – and while Eataly is a rarefied environment, there is a lot to learn from its celebration of food.
