Starbucks opens cashierless store in NYC

In a partnership with Amazon, Starbucks is opening a pick-up cafe in midtown Manhattan with Amazon that uses the retail giant’s cashierless technology to attract busy consumers who want to buy coffee or snack quickly. This is a great idea for those who need their Starbucks fix but need to get in and out in a hurry.

CVS to close 900 stores over the next three years

The shift is announced as CVS looks to continue their digital growth and focus their physical stores into health-care destinations, and not just a retail outlet. The closures will start in early 2022. Of the remaining stores, there will be a focus on the “HealthHub” store format – which will provide more services to customers. 

Kohl’s is still relevant and growing?

Dismissed by many as one of the next retailers to go belly up, Kohl’s not only is still around but had positive growth – showing a 16% increase in sales during the 3rd quarter. The partnership with Sephora is working, shoppers are going in store and online for makeup. They also raised their forecast for the rest of the year, even though they are facing the same supply chain issues as everyone else. Don’t count Kohl’s out!

Uber offers new membership bundle

A new membership bundle, called Uber One, bundles Uber’s rides, grocery and food delivery services. The cost is $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year and includes 5% off eligible rides and delivery orders on food, grocery, alcohol and more. Uber keeps innovating to try and keep their user base, as that fight for the last mile of delivery continues.
